Slough Stadium

Slough Stadium was a greyhound racing track in Slough.
Originally known as the Dolphin Stadium, it was opened to greyhound racing on 26 May 1928 by George Bennett owner of Slough F.C.
In 1936 the Dolphin Stadium was bought by New Clapton Stadium Co. Ltd and they renamed it the Slough Greyhound Stadium.
The stadium was purchased by the Greyhound Racing Association, (G.R.A) in 1966 and they brought one of the original classic races to Slough. That race was the Scurry Gold Cup and it was held there until 1987.
The track won the English Greyhound Derby with one of their greyhounds called Tico in 1986.
Just one year later the G.R.A sold the stadium for industrial development and it closed on 21 March. The Scurry Gold Cup moved to Catford.
